Radiogirl (3:09) Sample (0:25) Lyrics(pdf) Commemorating my finding me a woman over the airwaves. As with most of these records, this final version sounds like a rough draft; the level of tape hiss simply boggles the mind. A solo effort on three tracks (albeit with doubled-up axe which sounds kinda spacy when there's a bit of a delay). "You can find her at the 9-1-3." References "North Hyde Park" by hover (originally by Guppyboy). Total NH/VT underground nation freak modulation! This World (3:03) Sample (0:25) Lyrics(pdf) The guitar playing may be erratic in places, but this is a haunting little weeper. All solo, all me. Wrote it on Friday, recorded it on Sunday. Yep. Ms. Pac-Man (4:57) Sample (0:25) Lyrics(pdf) This is most highly recommended. Jake said: "I have to enjoy a song about Hampton and Ms. Pac-Man that also incorporates the word 'wicked'. You have written the sea-coast anthem." Can you argue with that? That's me rocking the guitar, and I wrote this 4-chord song. Sweep Me Away (4:37) Sample (0:25) Lyrics(pdf) This one is rock! Definitely recommended. Music written by me, about six years after the pompous lyrics. I'm playing a total of four chords there. Zork (2:09) Sample (0:25) Lyrics(pdf) Another video game record. That's me flying solo with multiple acoustic axes. It's a new stab at an old chestnut from like 1993. Chris wrote the music, but (as previously mentioned) it's all me on the recording. The singing ain't bad. Long Slow Ride (1:35) Sample (0:25) Lyrics(pdf) Now, see, this is funny crooning rock. Unfortunately, you can't hear the comical twang guitar in this mix. But I wrote and recorded everything meself. Listen to me croon! Spitneck

Lyrics(pdf)
This is rock. It was my first foray into nonsense lyrics. I actually
wrote the the chorus in my sleep; Chris came up with the spooky verse
music. I am not playing guitar on this record. Someday I'll fix this
so that the cymbals aren't so loud. Froot
Loops (4:13)
Sample

This
is a mock-smooth-jazz-but-kicks-into-rock piece. You know the type.
It's also a fun-with-verb-tenses piece. (You may not know the type.)
Listen to me croon. Chris wrote the music, and I am not playing any
instrument here. 5ive

This record (which was named in 1991, presumably predating the band
of the same name) sort of rocks. I wrote the music but do not play
any instrument on this version. I wrote this in about an hour. Sisyphus

Lyrics(pdf)
This sort of rocks. It was the first song Chris and I ever did together
(not this version, mind you), so here
it is. I may have written the original bass line, but the music is
pretty much Chris's. I am not playing any instrument here. Patchouli
Julie (4:39)

Lyrics(pdf)
This is a funny fooling-around recording. We were trying to remember
how it went after a couple of years; I wrote the music, but Chris
(sort of) knew how to play it. A web search on this title will show
that it's not an original phrase, but I thought of it before I heard
it anywhere else. This truly is a lost classic. I play kazoo and stomp
on a tambourine. Pola
Negri (1:11)
Sample
(0:25)
This
is spooky bass stuff. I wrote and recorded it all meself. Yep, that's
a chorus of me! Listen to that cat harmonize! Discovery
(2:15)
Sample (0:25)
Lyrics(pdf)
This is ancient acoustic stuff. Chris wrote the music and played all
the instruments. I found the NASA recordings on shortwave radio. Oh,
listen to me sing! Polygon
(4:58) Sample

This
is mostly talk, a geometry lesson over drums. It rocks near the end,
in a 2-chord kinda way. I improvised the words and music. Right, that's
me on guitar. French's Tavern (2:06) Sample (0:25) This is spooky bass stuff. I wrote and recorded it all meself. Listen to me play that spooky bass! Secret backwards messages! |
